Holisflow Experience

with Melissa Colombo

Jun 29 – Jun 30, 2024

Bio28, in collaboration with Melissa Colombo, is offering a weekend combining performance art with a physical and emotional practice.

Inspired by her experiences as a movement facilitator, therapist and nutritional counselor, Melissa created the Holisflow Experience practice, which combines the discipline of Pilates and dance to mentally and physically fulfill participants.

During the experience, participants will also participate in a Yin and Sound practice, to recalibrate their inner selves, and an MB-EAT class, to develop a mindfulness-based approach to nutrition.

On Saturday evening, the group will attend a performance of "O28 x Ballet BC".

ACTIVITY
DESCRIPTION

Holisflow Experience

Holisflow combines the discipline of Pilates and dance with a Zen touch to flow with music through an ever-changing sequence of postures. You will leave this class physically satisfied and mentally nourished.

Yin and Sound

Yin and Sound is a special ritual for the mind and body that will relax and recalibrate your inner self. It starts with the magic of yin yoga to stretch and release layers of tension, which are then soothed with a final sound sequence to give deep relaxation. This relaxation practice cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of tension in mind and body.

MB-Eat experience

MB-EAT involves guided mindfulness practices that aim to address the main issues of BED (emotional, behavioural and physiological dysregulation), control responses to various emotional states, make conscious food choices, develop awareness of hunger and satiety signals and cultivate self-acceptance.

Melissa is trained in Advanced Mat Pilates with Stott and in Pre and Post Natal Pilates with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) school, approaching physiologically and biomechanically the changes that occur during pregnancy. In addition, Melissa trained as a Yin and Meridian Yoga teacher with Norman Blair and Sarah Powers, pioneers of this effective and wonderful practice, at Yoga Campus London, where she will deepen and graduate as a somatic movement teacher, with Professor Susanne Lahusen. Recently, Melissa deepens her passion for sound by studying at the American School for Complementary Medicine, qualifying as a sound healer. In London, Melissa graduated as a holistic therapist and nutritional counselor from Westminster University.
